The Sins of Our Society

We are the subjects of Mother Nature. But recently, we have been pretending that we are the masters of this world. Drawn to her deepest emotions and resentful of her rawest retaliations, we are driven further from the truth: we are nothing without her. Dancing in dismay, we float in a fantasy where human intelligence is superior to that of a billion dawns and dusks. She can nurture our insignificance, but she cannot mask our mistakes. We are alluded to the edge of fantasy and forgiveness, yet this does not exist. Her beauty is only what we can comprehend, but our distraction is only what we pretend to understand.

Tempted with her forgiveness, flirting with a fantasy, we fall to fault again and again. The sins of our society.
